That’s right here’s that suprise that I couldn’t talk about earlier… Pastor Alan, GACC’s Children’s Pastor, several months ago challenged the kids to get 200 childrens + volunteers to Extreme Days 2007 and they did it!!! So as a reward Pastor Alan and a team of volunteers created the world’s longest banana split (FYI: We called Guiness World Records and they don’t have one recorded, so it is possible we could get the OFFICIAL RECORD)…
Here’s the article we got from the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/search.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2007-07-14-0152.html)
We were also on NBC 12, CBS 6, FOX 11, and CW13 on Friday evening at 5:30pm, 10pm, and 11pm…
I will post some more pictures/video later…

Did this Pastor beat my hometown’s record?
Yeah. Um. My hometown has the World Record for WORLD’S LONGEST BANANA SPLIT. I was there 1988. It was 4.55 miles long. Did this Pastor make one longer? I must know.
yes you are correct… Selinsgrove has held the record… were you a part of that creation?.. I was. it was quite fun!
I am vacationing in greensboro VT and a the ice cream stand at the “beach” has some sing up saying something about a “new” record long Banana Split… I need to see what they claim and compare to the Selinsgrove record
April 30 1988 in Selinsgrove, PA, USA 33,000 bananas were delivered along with 2,500 gallons of ice-cream, 600 pounds of nuts, and lots of other toppings.
The reason: To create the world’s longest banana split.
At 7.32 km. or 4.55 miles, this banana split did not have to split the record with any other.
