Communicate for Communication Sake!

I have been taking a course in Organizational Communication. The material in this course has been great so far. I am just trying to understand why so many people can’t communicate.

Just last night I had an issue where someone was not listening to what I was saying. These incidents so many times are by accident but when you purposely are not listening it is just annoying to the communicator.

Take a look at this graph I found online about the communication flow:

So this week try and communicate to those around you better. Try and rember to actively listen then speak. Thanks!

VCU’s Emergency Warning Sirens

Today at 12 PM EST. The VCU Emergency Warning Sirens will be sounded. This is just a test not a real emergency. Along with the sirens, text messages to student’s cell phones, display units and computer warnings will all go off.

Why does VCU see this as an important step to take? This past spring Virginia Tech was under attack by a student with an automatic gun. So many schools implemented emergency notification systems.

I am not looking forward to hearing the sirens and seeing people confused (even though they announced it for weeks).

Long time no post…

I am sorry that I haven’t posted in a couple of days… I have been very busy with the new job and church…

Grilled Double Pork Chop
stone ground vermont white cheddar grits, southern greens,
roasted braeburn apple, cognac sauce $17

The atmosphere was really cool…

iPhone Refund or not???

I picked this one up from the NY Times – Technology Blog…

Refunds and Credits for iPhone Owners
(http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/09/07/refunds-and-credits-for-iphone-owners/)

“While iPhone owners wait for Apple to give out more details about the $100 credit it is offering to those who bought an iPhone before Wednesday’s $200 price reduction, they might want to consider their other options.

And there are no clear answers. Apple and AT&T have said they will give $200 credits or refunds to customers who bought the iPhone in the 14 days preceding the price reduction.”

So are the iPhone owners getting a refund??? I hope for the sake of those people that they are getting a refund…

Well I wanted to put this out there for those who may have bought an iPhone in the past 2 weeks…
