Mike Huckabee!!!

MikeHuckabee.com - I Like Mike! MikeHuckabee.com - I Like Mike!

If you don’t know the Virginia Primaries are just upon us… They are February 12, 2008… That is only 3 days away…

I have been looking over the candidates and I like Mike Huckabee… McCain seems to be to liberal…

Huckabee’s Thoughts on Taxes/Economy:

  • I support the FairTax.
  • As Governor of Arkansas, I cut taxes and fees almost 100 times, saving the taxpayers almost $380 million. I left a surplus of nearly $850 million, which I urged should go back to the people.
  • Our massive deficit is not due to Americans’ being under-taxed, but to the government’s over-spending.
  • To control spending, I believe the President should have the line-item veto.
  • I believe in free trade, but it has to be fair trade.
  • Globalization, done right, done fairly, can be the equivalent of a big pay raise by allowing us to buy things more cheaply.
  • I support making the Bush tax cuts (set to expire in 2010) permanent.
  • Furthermore, I believe that we need to expand upon these cuts by further reducing marginal rates on individual and corporate income, instituting credits for tuition, and eliminating the “death tax.”

Here’s a listing of Huckabee’s sites:

PDF Resources are available

Hi All,

I recently added a page called PDF Resources… I just wanted to let everyone know that there are resources available in there now… I will keep updating them as often as possible…

Facebook under attack!

Well at least the CEO and creator is… Mark Zuckerburg and Facebook have sued for articles on a online magazine to be stricken…

Here’s the article I picked up:

Social networking Web sites can seem dedicated to the idea that nobody’s personal life is worth keeping private, but when it comes to Mark Zuckerberg — the founder of Facebook, one of the largest networks — Facebook disagrees.

Facebook tried last week to force the magazine 02138 to remove some unflattering documents about Mr. Zuckerberg from its Web site. But a federal judge turned down the company’s request for a court order to take down the material, according to the magazine’s lawyers.

The dispute stemmed from a lawsuit charging that in 2003 and 2004, as a student at Harvard, Mr. Zuckerberg stole the idea and some of the computer source code for Facebook from some fellow students. They were planning a networking site of their own and had hired Mr. Zuckerberg to help with the programming.

Here’s some documents from 02138 Mag:

Poking Facebook

The Facebook Files

Well I guess Zuckerburg has to get used to being critized just like all other CEOs… While I do feel for him this is just a part of the public life…

Facebook is at it again…

Well Facebook is at it again… They are now teamed up with ABC to follow their reporters as we get into the major debates and campaigning…

Here’s the article I picked up:

Facebook, the popular social networking site, has become a full-fledged platform for communicating, sharing and advertising. ABC News is betting that it will become a platform for political coverage, as well.

ABC News and Facebook have formally established a partnership — the site’s first with a news organization — that allows Facebook members to electronically follow ABC reporters, view reports and video and participate in polls and debates, all within a new “U.S. Politics” category.

This looks pretty neat… Facebook is just going run everything someday along with Google…

Yahoo and Gmail entering the Social Network World?

So it appears that Yahoo and Gmail want to get in on the huge business of Social Networking…

Here’s an article I picked up from the NY Times:

Brad Garlinghouse, who runs the communication and community products for Yahoo, was a lot more forthcoming. He didn’t-have dates or specific product details either. But he did say that Yahoo was working on what he called “Inbox 2.0.”

This has several features. First, the e-mail service is made more personal because it displays messages more prominently from people who are more important to you. Yahoo is testing a method that can automatically determine the strength of your relationship to someone by how often you exchange e-mail and instant messages with him or her.

You can read the rest of the article here: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/11/13/inbox-20-yahoo-and-google-to-turn-e-mail-into-a-social-network/index.html?ref=technology

The article includes the little bit of details that they have on Google’s “Social Network”… This is potentially revoluntionary and could change the way online social networking happens…

Facebook Ads Update!!!

This is hot off the press…. Literally this article on NY Times was published in the past 25 minutes…

Here’s a section of the article:

There is at least one problem with this idea: It may be illegal under a 100-year-old New York privacy law. The statute says that “any person whose name, portrait, picture, or voice is used within this state for advertising purposes or for the purposes of trade without the written consent first obtained” can sue for damages. Moreover, such a use is also a criminal misdemeanor.

According to William McGeveran, a professor at the University of Minnesota Law School who wrote about these laws in a blog post today, the law would apply to Facebook users anywhere if the ad were displayed in New York. Arguably, it could apply if the ad was displayed on a computer screen within the state. Yet “where the ad actually is in cyberspace is a whole other can of worms,” he said.

So what is Facebook going to do… Who knows but I mean come on a 100 year old law that definately never saw the internet coming… Well I just wanted to pass this along…
