Long time no post…

I am sorry that I haven’t posted in a couple of days… I have been very busy with the new job and church…

I do have some good posts but I just need to sit down and write them out…

I recently got a new cell phone (1st – Mogul 6800; 2nd (Final) – Palm 755p)…

I recently had 2 friends get the iPhone and they have mixed reviews…

I also started using some new technology like Brightcove.com and YouTube Developer…

I will post more later…

A very very very long week…

WOW!!! This last week was very long… My teams and me have accomplished so much this week…

Here’s what we accomplished this week:

Total Stage Changeover (Photos coming soon…) (Thanks Stage Team!!!)

Transformers Promo (Thanks Video Producers!!!)

Men’s Fraternity Promo (Thanks Video Producers!!!)

Officially launched the new HighImpact Living Website (www.highimpactliving.net)

Implemented a new Tech. Leader for our South Side Campus (Trevor D. – Thanks for helping out)

ONE GREAT VISION DAY (Thanks everyone for your help)

I know that it is the services like this morning that make it totally worth it… I think this morning’s service was great… I really love what I get to do in the local church…

“The local church is the hope of the world” – Bill Hybels

That quote is a great quote to remember on weeks like this one… It has been totally crazy but I know that we impacted peoples’ lives this morning and I know that this church will continue to impact peoples’ lives…

I look forward to a more normal week this week but I still have one more service (which we are currently doing right now)…

iPhone price drop!!!!

That’s right people the iPhone price has been dropped to $399 (8 GB Version)… But why the sudden price drop for Apple??? It appears that investors didn’t take this price drop very nicely, Apple’s stock drop 5% yesterday to $136.76…

“On Wednesday, Apple executives insisted that the price cut had been planned long ago and that the strategy had been conceived in part to keep the iPhone’s pricing in line with its new iPod Touch, a music player that looks like the iPhone but lacks the phone-calling ability. The sharp price cut, however, suggested that even Apple, which has long lived in a pricing bubble insulated from other personal computer makers, is not immune from the brutal pressures of the cellular phone business.”

Here’s a cool update on the iPod Touch (displayed to the left):

“Mr. Jobs said the company was making a “total refresh” of the iPod line, and he demonstrated a series of new features that showed how Apple was turning the music player into a hand-held computer.

Mr. Jobs displayed the new flagship iPod Touch, which will sell for $299 for an 8-gigabyte model and $399 for one with twice the capacity.

Slightly thinner than an iPhone, the new device has touch-screen controls and a built-in Wi-Fi antenna that allows it to connect directly to the Internet. It also has a browser, which makes it more of a hand-held computer than any other music player.

Users will be able to connect to a new iTunes Wi-Fi store where they can download songs directly to their music players without having to connect to a computer.

Another feature of the iPod software will be the ability to alert a user entering a Starbucks coffee shop to the music being played there. Then, a tap on the screen will download the song from iTunes.”

I am personally looking forward to the iPod Touch… I think it sounds like a pretty cool piece of technology…

What is hulu? Well visit Hulu.com and see for yourself…

Here’s a letter from them:

A Hulu hello

August 29th, 2007

Welcome to Hulu! Our passionate and growing team here has been very hard at work on a service that we’re quite excited about. We’ll keep you updated with news as we go along.

The first bit of news we’d like to share is that we have a name: Hulu.

Why Hulu? Objectively, Hulu is short, easy to spell, easy to pronounce, and rhymes with itself. Subjectively, Hulu strikes us as an inherently fun name, one that captures the spirit of the service we’re building. Our hope is that Hulu will embody our (admittedly ambitious) never-ending mission, which is to help you find and enjoy the world’s premier content when, where and how you want it.

The second bit of news is that we are now accepting sign-ups at hulu.com for invitations to our web site’s private beta. The Hulu private beta will be available in October. In the interest of delivering a great customer experience and making sure that we can address any feedback that comes along the way, we’re going to start small and grow iteratively in terms of the volumes of people that we invite to participate in the beta. Within that same timeframe, we will also be offering great programming through our distribution partner sites: AOL, Comcast, MSN, MySpace, and Yahoo.

Ok, now it’s time for all of us at Team Hulu to get back to work! Don’t forget to register your email address for the upcoming private beta.

It basically sounds like a new online source for TV shows. Video programs from NBC and Fox will appear on the site.

I have signed up to be a private beta partner and look forward to seeing what they got… I will let you all know more soon…

Here’s the rest of the story: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/29/the-wait-is-over-news-corpnbcs-newsite-has-a-name/

Some new news stuff…

Here’s the most up to date technology information:

Who founded Facebook? A new claim emerges. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/01/technology/01facebook.html?_r=1&ref=technology&oref=slogin

My thoughts: What is up with these fellow classmates saying Mark Zuckerburg stole the idea. I think they are just jealous because the company is doing so well. I think if these guys have a true claim then it will be obvious in court but it sounds like they just want a piece of the Facebook pie. I personally think Facebook is the best online social network out there.

No New NBC Shows to be sold by Apple http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/01/technology/01apple.html?ref=technology

My thoughts: Oh no… That means no more SNL, Heroes, or any of my other favorite shows. Come on Apple, settle this dispute please!!! I was just getting ready to download Season 1 of Heroes and hoping that Season 2 would be put up on a constant basis during the season. Apple and NBC need to resolve this issue immediatley.

San Fransico Wi-Fi Fog http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/31/san-franciscos-wi-fi-fog/

My thoughts: That just stinks. Earthlink is pulling out of its plan to blanket San Fransico with free Wi-Fi from Google. Now San Fransico is not going to be Wi-Fi free everywhere. After reading that article, I looked into other cities that have tried this in the past and there were a few. Chicago ended up tabling its project due to the amount of money the city would have to invest. I think the idea is great but I do see from a business perspective how they could be costly for the city and the companies.

My new technology love is Flickr…

While I have know about Flickr logo. If you click it, you'll go home for a while I have never really looked into its uses… I have now begun using Flickr for pictures… I stumbled across Flickr again when I was reading someone else’s blog… I kept saying why don’t I use Flickr for my pictures…

Here are some pluses I found to using Flickr logo. If you click it, you'll go home:
~ Well known!!!
~ Cool Flash badge (but I can’t use it right now because I let WordPress.com host my blog but it’s still sweet!!!)
~ Neat slideshow function (better than the Picasa one in my book)
~ Great uploader (Faster and user friendly)
~ Works with lots of blogging software packages and Facebook!!!

Some downsides (but I haven’t really run into these yet):
~ Monthly upload allowance (100 Mb/mo)
~ No download capability once uploaded

So my new technology love is Flickr… Thanks Flickr logo. If you click it, you'll go home for being such a great picture software package…

Here’s my slideshow… Check it out!!!

So I suggest you sign up now!!! Let me know what you think about Flickr logo. If you click it, you'll go home.

Stupid Boy – Performed by Pastor Joey

Pastor Joey did this song last weekend…

We worked on getting it uploaded quicker but Google Video has been very weird this week…

So here it is:

I thought this by far one of our best special musics… We did a lot of practice with the Band, Live Video, Lighting, and Media Shout Teams… And it shows!!! Thanks to everyone who helped pull off a great worship service last weekend…
