Video Camera Shots

Pastor Joey found this and posted it on his blog… I just wanted to pass it along…

Looks pretty cool… Let me know what you think…

There are some other videos on YouTube about video camera shots and movie-making… I will try and post more over time…

VCU Fall Semester 2007 begins…

Well classes officially began yesterday but today is my first full day of classes… I have 4 classes but only 3 classes are meeting today… One of my classes is an “out of class” assignment which was to read Ch. 1 and the class syllabus…

My first couple of classes have been good so far.. I still have Organizational Behavior and Accounting today so we will see how those go… I will post more later…

Right now I am sitting in the student commons watching everyone rushing to classes… The VCU internet also stinks…. I have typed this posting like 3 times now and I can’t upload my pictures on Flickr…

However Tori can get on Flickr what is up with that…

I took some pictures of the new VCU art they have around campus and some other stuff…

Celebrate along the way… THANK YOU!!!

When I first designed this website, it was just for me. I never really thought it would be so popular. I don’t want to brag but WOW!!! I do think God has truly worked through me and this website. I could never imagine to have over 5000 hits on my blog in just a matter of months.

I have to say it has been cool to be the number one hit on Google for a number of different subjects. I appreciate Google for checking my site out too.

So today I wanted to say THANK YOU for reading my blog. I really do appreciate those who take the time to check it out. I will post some media related topics later today.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU.

A neat picture but a bad storm…

I took this picture with my cell phone last night as I was driving home…

It was about5:56 PM…

and I was going 0 MPH…

The storm was getting pretty bad…

Traffic finally began to move…

Once I got home it began to rain really bad and I had to run into my dorm building…

I am getting pretty tired of the daily storms in Richmond…

Beta testing for LocateTV.com

 I got an interesting e-mail this morning when I got into the office… Here’s a snippet…

“LocateTV, is a search site which we hope to be the Google of TV and film. It’s a nice and simple, slick site that lets you search for when programmes/films are showing on TV, online and DVD. And it’s constantly updated and region specific, with a host of other features in the pipeline that’ll let you customise it without loosing its essential clarity.

We’re aksing a few TV, film and tech bloggers and enthusiasts to try out the site, newly gone into private beta, so they can give us feedback about what you like, what doesn’t work and suggestions you have for improvements and developments to the site – and I think you could give us an enthusiastic and informed opinion.”

So it looks like LocateTV.com is giving me beta tester access to their newly designed search portal and more… I look forward to checking this out… I will let everyone know how it is very soon…

Coming Soon: Web Video in High Definition

I found this when I was reading the New York Times BITS blog… I think this is totally sweet… Although the technology seems to be a little outdated right???

Adobe says they are going to be using H.264 but I have been using that to encode VidCast files for iTunes for almost a year or two years now… You mean to tell me that this the most updated encoder… Wow!!!

“The high-def standard that Adobe is embracing is called H.264. It is the same video format used in Blu-Ray and HD-DVD video players and the latest cable and satellite set-top boxes. Adobe will integrate support for H.264, and for the high-performance AAC audio standard, into the newest version of Flash, available for download today.”

Here’s the rest of the article: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/21/coming-soon-web-video-in-high-definition/

I personally know that I like to encode my projects in Flash because of the growing number of hacker programs designed to rip down people’s work from Google Video and YouTube. The whole reason I used those programs was so that people couldn’t steal my hard work plus the church’s work is technically copyrighted… So if someone uses it outside the church then they are breaking the law!!! But from a personal standpoint I just don’t like that people can just download other people’s work without asking… I wouldn’t mind if you asked probably…

Anyways I look forward to testing out the new High Def flash player…
