Church gets an update…

So as many of you know our church was changing its name from Glen Allen Community Church to Richmond Community Chruch. This is because of our growing and plans on more campuses in the Richmond area.

This week we got the cornerstone sign updated… Here’s a pic (Thanks Tori for the picture)…

Last week we got the glass tower sign updated… Here’s some pics (by me on the Treo)…

LifeChurch.tv Trip coming soon…

Well it looks like Pastor Kevin and I are going to take a trip out to LifeChurch.tv… I had proposed this idea last December as a way to learn more about multi-site and doing an internet campus… Well it got approved…

We are meeting up with Terry Storch (Digerati Pastor), Brandon Donaldson (Internet Campus Pastor), and Brian Ahern…. We are looking to do a few more meetings maybe with a campus pastor, youth pastor and who knows who else…

I wanted to say thank you to the guys out at LifeChurch.tv they have been very welcoming…

I am soooooo excited to go out there and see how it all happens..

Yahoo is laying off people…

Oh oh… Yahoo is talking about laying off people…

In today’s world this is becoming more and more often…

SAN FRANCISCO — Yahoo is planning to lay off hundreds of employees in an effort to increase its profitability, prop up its deflated stock price and narrow the focus of its sprawling Internet portal to a smaller number of crucial areas, people close to the company said Monday.

The final number of layoffs from Yahoo’s work force of about 14,000 is yet to be determined and is likely to be announced around the end of the month, perhaps during Yahoo’s conference call on Jan. 29 with analysts after it reports fourth-quarter results, these people said.

A new age for Presidential Campaigns

Looks like the Presidential Candidates are diving into a new way of using the internet… They are basically using the internet to make sure their side of the story is said…

Here’s the article I picked up today:

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign on Thursday introduced a Web site dedicated exclusively to the instantaneous rebuttal of charges or news reports it deems offensive or wrong.

And the day offered a perfect opportunity for the campaign, with a potentially embarrassing mini-scandal: a waitress’s report that Mrs. Clinton had failed to tip after eating at a Maid-Rite diner in central Iowa, an assertion that ricocheted around the Internet on Thursday.

So this is a kind of new way for the Presidential Candidates to use the internet… Guess everyone wants to their side of the story said…

It’s OFFICIAL!!!

Well Pastor Rick announced yesterday and we are doing it… Glen Allen Community Church is now Richmond Community Church… So that’s Richmond Community Church – Glen Allen and Richmond Community Church – Midlothian… We have 3-4 more campuses in the works over the next 6-8 years (estimate) so the name would continue on…

I am very excited about this… I think it better positions the church as a regional church…
