A bunch of updates in one post…

Okay so I have been very very busy… So I wanted to take a minute from the busyness and post a bunch of updates…

School:

It’s over!!! Well for the next couple of weeks… The ending of a semester is always fun, because I am done with those classes forever!!!

I am going to summer school (May 19-June 6 and June 30-July 30). I wanted to get some math classes out of the way.

Home:

Well my brother is OFFICIALLY a MARINE!!! I am very very proud of him. He left on Tuesday morning (0140) to go to Marine Combat Training and I already miss him. I won’t get to see him again until July 4th weekend.

Church:

Well, Pastor Joey resigned a couple of weeks ago, so I have been helping out more with the service planning and stuff. It’s been really fun though. I have been gotten to really know more of the Arts Leaders and other great people in the church.

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit. I recently challenged all of the Technology/Media Leaders to recruit 1 person a month for the next 4 months. If we can all accomplish this goal, that would be almost 40 new people in ministry. I personally have been recruiting and so far have about 6 new people in ministry, all of which are great people and very talented. I am sooo excited about this new department initiative.

Willow Creek Arts Conference 2008, I am going!!! YEH!!! I am really excited that I am going. Coming this year with me is Tori (Media Production Team Leader) and Marty (Music Director), we are all ready to learn and suck in all the information we can. As a side note: If you are going to the Arts Conference and want to meet up shoot me a comment back and maybe we can do coffee or something, I really want to network and meet other media/technology people.

Well that’s all the updates I have for now… Thanks for taking the time to read my post and looking at my blog…

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Back to WORK!!!

So today we are back in the full swing of things at the YMCA… Today we begin BASKETBALL Season for youth…

It is going to be a crazy day…

It’s also going to be so cool with all the kids running around and having fun…

I will check back in lata…

Welcome to 2008…

Last night we are sitting around and it dawned upon me that 8 years ago we would have been worried about all the computers crashing and the world coming to a stop… Looks like we survived those times…

I am very excited about this year and all the things it has in store for me…

I am particulary excited about some things I get to do with my ministry this year…

Thanks for checking my blog out… I will post more “New Year Thoughts” this week…

A New Year is upon us…

The new year is coming up only in a matter of hours now…

I am reminded about all the things I have done this year…

This year has been great personally, at work, in school and at the church…

Thanks to everyone who has helped me out this year… I am very appreciative of those around me…

MOVE IT! RICHMOND, GLEN ALLEN, POWHATAN, AND EVERYONE!

Today’s the day when you really begin to realize you ate way to much yesterday. Well the YMCA of Greater Richmond has an opportunity for you to work off that extra weight for FREE. Today all the YMCAs in Richmond are open to anyone in the community.

There are all kinds of activites going on all day. You can work out, play in the gym, swim, and all kinds of classes. Check out www.ymcarichmond.org for more information.

Give Thanks!

Today being Thanksgiving, I felt it was appropriate to give thanks.

I am so very thankful for everything God has done for me this year. God has closed doors but has opened so many more. He has brought me success and things I want but above all God has provided through out the ups and downs and all arounds.

Thanks to my Pastors without them I wouldn’t know what to do. They all help in their own way. They are great friends, counselors, and great brothers in Christ.

Thanks to all my volunteer staff without them the church couldn’t get everything we need to get done on a weekly basis.

Thanks to my mom and dad for being there for me and paying for my college education amongst other things. Mom, thanks for always being able to listen and Dad thanks for always giving good advice (I hear it even when I act like I don’t).

Thanks to my little brother for being such a cool little brother. Just last night he brought me out to dinner at Outback. I love catching up with him and he is serving in the church and following the Lord (I couldn’t ask for more there).

Thanks to the Phillips Family for being my extended family. Alan is like a brother and Rebecca like a sister, plus the kids are so fun to hang with. But above the Phillips Family always has an welcoming attitude and they are just like family.

So thank you to all these people… This year has been a great one… Gotta go I’m headed to the Home Team Grill to serve Thanksgiving Dinner to the less fortunate and to get some video for future promos for the event…

It’s been a very long week…

Okay so I knew this week was going be long but WOW!!! I am still working on video projects for tomorrow’s service (waiting on rendering now)…

I have not slept but about 1 hour in the past 24 hours… I ended up being at the church from Friday 10 PM – Saturday 4 AM… That is not to mention the already 40+ hours I have put in before last night and I still got another 2-3 hours tonight…

So I got home at 4:30 AM Saturday morning only to realize I have no clothes to wear… So I begin doing laundry and it took about 2 hours… I did fall sleep twice for about 30 minutes but that’s all the true sleep I have had in the past 24 hours… I then had to work this morning at the YMCA and then back to the church to finish up projects…

I am just wondering why is it that weeks like this happen so often??? Do I need more volunteer staff??? Do my people work effectively??? This week has definately caused me to think about those things… I will be spending some time next week evaluating those questions and more but for now I got to get back to work…
